Itinerary:

Day 01

To unwind with your family head to your Negombo lodging. Stop by some of the most beautiful beaches while on a city tour.

Day 02

First thing in the morning visit the most vibrant churches in Negombo, Sri Lanka’s ‘Little Rome’. Spend the evening cycling through the oldest city in the country when you visit Anuradhapura. See the nation’s oldest tree, the sacred Bo tree and the magnificent ‘Jetavanarama Stupa’, a historic temple.

Day 03

As soon as you wake up in Anuradhapura, enjoy the view of the lake. Experience the island’s regal past by cycling through the historic ruins of Polonnaruwa, a city that embodies it perfectly. Visit the UNESCO-designated Gold Cave temples in Dambulla which feature walls that date back 2000 years.

Day 04

You can go hiking in the early morning at Sigiriya Rock, one of Sri Lanka’s most visited tourist spots. The stairway to the summit which formerly housed the monarch’s palace is guarded by the renowned giant lion paws. Go eastward to investigate the ruins of the Polonnaruwa kingdom after that. Once you’ve settled into your Kandy lodging take a city tour that includes a visit to the Holy Temple of the Tooth Relic.

Day 05

Find out about Kandy’s rich ‘Udarata’ tradition. Following that take a hike through Knuckles Range forests and tea plantations to take in breath-taking views of the local fauna and diverse flora. There is also the option to veer off course to view a waterfall. Those who appreciate the great outdoors should not miss this adventure.

Day 06

En route to Nuwara Eliya situated in the hill country of Sri Lanka at an elevation of 1800 meters above sea level one can witness the magnificent vistas of various lush tea fields. Take in the stunning Ramboda Falls and visit a tea factory along the way. You can see traditional tea pluckers picking fresh tea leaves while wearing colorful sarees along the hills. A range of teas are available at the production plant. Go on a city tour later in the evening while it’s still cold.

Day 07

Enjoy the stunning view of the misty clouds as you wake up in this city. The Hortain Plains is a Worlds End eco-destination where hiking is possible. One of the most beautiful hikes on the island is this one. With luck you may spot deer grazing in the long grass in the morning.

Day 08

On this day you’ll take a beautiful train excursion from Nuwara Eliya to Ella. The Ravana waterfalls are among the breathtaking sights you will see during this ride which allows for amazing photographs. Continue on to Udawalawe later in the afternoon where you are welcome to spend the night.

Day 09

Experience the exhilaration of a Jeep Safari in Udawalawe Park early in the morning. There are a variety of native and migratory birds in this region along with elephants, crocodiles, sambar deer, leopards, and wild boars. You should then travel to Sinharaja for a restful night.

Day 10

After breakfast, accompany a naturalist on a tour of the Sinharaja Rain Forest. You can choose  for the three-hour hike or the two-hour waterfall trail. In addition to endemic bird species this hike will provide you with the chance to observe wildlife.

Day 11

Experience the colonial grandeur of the magnificent Dutch Fort of Galle which is considered to be Asia’s best-preserved colonial sea fort by strolling along the cobblestone lanes this morning. In the Fort you can also see the oldest breadfruit tree on the island.

Day 12, 13

Later head to this seaside city for an enjoyable beach vacation. Spend your free time in the Indian Ocean to decompress, rejuvenate, and get a tan.

Day 14

Your trip through Sri Lanka’s natural wonders and cultural heritage will come to an end on your last day as you transfer to the airport to depart.
